I just met a girl like you

By Scott Gressitt

TartuLoversSculptureI just met a girl like you.
She has your smile
she has your hips
she has your laugh.
But when we kiss, the world moves on.

I just met a girl like you.
She has your style
she has you hair
your shoulders, too.
But when we talk, I drift off.

I just met a girl like you.
She has your waist
she has your taste
she has your eyes.
But when we touch, I think of work.

I just met a girl like you.
She has your legs
she has your voice
she has your dress.
But when we dance, I’m not all there.

I just met a girl like you.
She has your tone
she has your lips
she has your skin.
But when I hold her, she’s stone cold.

I just met a girl like you.
She has your breasts
she has your cash
she has your shoes.
But when we cook, I burn the fish.

I just met a girl like you.
She has your feet
she has your talk
she has your ass.
But when we walk, I wander off.

I just met a girl like you.
She cries your tears
she laughs your joy
she speaks your mind.
But when I listen, you aren’t there.

About Scott Gressitt

An amateur writer and rapscallion, I write of my past, a life laden with extraordinary events. I have walked in places most of the population avoids.

Besides scars and bruises, I’ve collected experiences that frighten, delight and entertain. I write with the intent to take you on a wild ride where all your senses are fully engaged. Enjoy.

This is my favorite, so far. I love the musicality and have read and reread it aloud several times.

Thanks ‘evvabody.
Paige, three friends have written to me and suggested it should be lyrics for a song.
I guess it is musical, eh?
