This is no consolation for your ill-fated bumper, but maybe you can have the last laugh. It is election day and I'd like to share a little story ...
I dropped off my absentee ballot along with my husband's at our local precinct. No problems, no lines, GREAT poll workers.

I was wearing my "I Voted" sticker to out-of-town client meetings I had throughout the day. No one commented - until I stopped in at a Subway to grab a late lunch. The young black man working behind the counter was excited to see my "I Voted" sticker. We started to chat. It was his first time voting and the first time he was old enough to vote. I finally asked "You don't have to tell me but, may I ask who you voted for?" He literally beamed – "Barack Obama!" he said. He told me he was so excited about this election. It meant such a great deal to him. The anticipation in his voice, his face splitting smile said it all. This election is so important to so many people - young and old - even this middle-aged white woman chatting to the young fellow making a sandwich for her! Finally, a sense of optimism is in the air!
